How to Connect Apple Health, Whoop, Garmin — or Almost Anything Else — to ONU

Your wearables already know. Now you'll know what to change

ONU doesn't need you to start tracking from zero, and it doesn't need you to own a specific brand of device. It reads directly from the health platforms you already use, and because most fitness trackers and wearables on the market sync into Apple Health or export data in a standard format, ONU can typically work with data that started life on a competitor's device too.

Connect

Connecting each platform

1

Apple Health

Settings > Connected Apps > Apple Health, then approve the permissions screen for sleep, heart rate, steps, and workouts. Data typically appears within minutes.

2

Whoop

Settings > Connected Apps > Whoop, log in with your Whoop credentials, and approve the authorization screen. Recovery data finalizes once your sleep session ends.

3

Garmin

Settings > Connected Apps > Garmin, log in to Garmin Connect, and approve ONU's request. Syncs run once your device has uploaded its latest activity.

More than one

Connecting more than one platform at once

You can connect Apple Health, Whoop, and Garmin simultaneously — ONU is built to reconcile overlapping data rather than simply duplicating it. Where two sources disagree, ONU generally favors whichever platform's data type it considers more reliable for that specific metric.

Labs

Uploading lab results

Wearable integrations cover daily data, but your lab history matters too. From Settings > Health Records, you can upload a PDF, image, or exported file of any lab results, and ONU's AI health engine will extract and structure the relevant biomarkers automatically. See how ONU interprets a blood test once it's uploaded.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting a sync that isn't showing up

  • Check permissions first — the most common issue is a data category that wasn't fully approved during setup.
  • Force a manual sync on the source app — confirm your latest data has uploaded there before expecting it in ONU.
  • Give it a full sleep cycle — sleep and recovery data often needs a full night to populate correctly the first time.

Permissions

Data permissions: what ONU actually requests

Each platform's authorization screen lists exactly which data categories ONU is requesting — typically sleep, heart rate, activity/workouts, and (for Whoop specifically) recovery and strain scores. ONU only requests read access to these categories; it cannot write data back to Apple Health, Whoop, or Garmin, or access unrelated data like contacts, photos, or location. You can review or revoke ONU's access at any time directly from each platform's own settings.
